Made of Catalin (a phenolic resin commonly referred to as Bakelite).

Manufactured by Cardinal Products Co., Brooklyn, New York, a mid-century American maker known for high-quality Catalin Mah Jongg sets.

Includes Original Company Card and Original Store Receipt Stamped “Cancelled 9-14-60”.

Tiles are Hand Engraved and Hand Painted as Stated on Original Cardinal Card.

CONDITION:

Briefcase shows wear including corner splits, fraying, and surface discoloration and abrasions.

Bottom of briefcase is pushed inward so case is a bit misshapen.

Hardware shows oxidation, pitting, and finish loss.

One Tile Storage Tray is crooked/warped.

Racks show surface scratches and internal residue/age-related buildup. Some scratches and finish loss to the metal.

Tiles show some surface wear from use.
