This vintage 1960s black wool coat features an attractive silhouette with cream mouton trim at the collar, cuffs, and hem. The coat appears to be styled with inspiration taken from the Doctor Zhivago era (1965), with a Russian-inspired look including side button closure and contrasting fur trim.

The fabric is a corded pure virgin wool, with a vertical ribbed texture that gives the coat structure and depth. Extra warmth is provided by the interlined satin lining. The coat is tailored with shaping seams and closes with a row of buttons along the front panel that buttons to the side.

The mouton fur trim around the neck is attached with long threads and closes with hooks and eyes. The collar is currently detached in a couple of places where it was originally sewn with long threads; this was left as is so the new owner can adjust the placement or reattach as desired.

The label indicates Gordi Fashions Montreal – Made in Canada, with Pure Virgin Wool fabric.
