Description

With so many choices from budget to high end, which record cleaning brushes should you chose to keep your records free of dust and debris and reduce antistatic charge.

In our opinion, the 2 in 1 carbon fibre and velvet combination brush is one of the most effective and affordable tools that vinyl enthusiasts should invest in.

It is a combination of a super soft velvet pad, flanked by ultra-thin carbon fibre brushes. These work together so that dust is dislodged from the grooves of the vinyl, picked up by the velvet pad, and at the same time, the antistatic properties of the brush ensure that static charge is minimalised on the record.

This will increase the lifetime of your vinyl records and improve your listening experience by reducing surface loss.

So how should it be used?

With the record spinning on the turntable, gently hold the brush over the record so that the carbon fibres just tickle the surface. If they are squashing flat, the carbon fibres will not work effectively. You want to allow the fibre tips to penetrate the grooves. Most of the dust will gather at the front fibres. Then, gently scoop up the front fibres allowing the velvet pad and rear set of fibres to catch anything missed by the front. After this, lift the brush vertically, directly from the records surface. Do not drag the brush across the surface as there is always a risk of dragging a particle that could cause damage. Much better to repeat the process if there are any signs of dust left on the record.

For best results we recommend you do this before and after the playback of each side.
