A rare, matching set of three lead (flint) glass wine glasses, circa 1820–1840. These are definitive examples of the Jacksonian/Early Federal era, sharing the identical pattern and form as specimens in The Metropolitan Museum of Art (Accession #13.120.61).  Last photo is screen shot from the Met.

Provenance: Acquired from a 2nd-generation antique dealer (collection established in the 1960s).

 

• Pattern: "Strawberry Diamond" band with vertical rays (McKearin GII-18).
• Material: Brilliant flint glass with a sharp, resonant chime ("ping").
• Construction: Blown into a 3-part mold; visible seams to the rim.
• Artistry: Each glass is hand-finished with slight variations in height and rim slant. Features authentic "rippled" feet with historically polished flat resting edges.

Condition Report:

Museum Quality. No chips, cracks, or clouding. Extremely minimal shelf wear, consistent with long-term, protected cabinet storage.
