2003 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Coupe

For consignment, a 2003 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 showing 52,922 non actual miles. This might look like your mild mannered Z06 on the outside, (if there is such a thing), but underneath, it's been heavily modified to bump the impressive 405 factory horsepower up to a dyno proven 525. Its stout engine has some help from Lingenfelter, FAST, COMP, and other impressive names in the aftermarket component world.

Due to modifications of the emissions control devices installed by the manufacturer, please check your local, state, and federal laws to determine if this vehicle is applicable for use on public highways in your area.*

Vehicle Description

Exterior
Dressed in a bad to the bone black repaint, Z06 cues present as a mesh style grille, a horsepower fender emblem, brake cooling ducts on the dogleg, and a notchback roof that was specific to the model.  Z06 wheels here are borrowed from the C6 generation edition in gleaming chrome and wrapped in ZR rated tires with a late 2019 date code.  Out back there's a hint that something is going on here with oversized quad exhaust that sneaks out just past the slotted valance.  Widened rear quarters give the car an even more aggressive look and do away with that pesky antenna that can kill 10ths off your quarter mile.  A carbon fiber trimmed crossed flag emblem lives on the nose, capping off a clean presentation where the only imperfections found are a spider crack in the black and some curb rash on a wheel.

Interior
The striking two tone interior begins on the door panels where black plastic contours to create an armrest with a red handle, carbon fiber dipped handle reveal, push pad control panel, while the lower panel is vibrant red and takes in a speaker and red safety light, all in great condition.  The seats are Caravaggio racing seats in black leather with a RaceQuip harness on the driver's side and red stitching that picks up on the red outer shell.  A meaty Redline flat bottom steering wheel is offered up to the driver in front of the standard dash with side pods of switches.  The center stack is framed in more carbon fiber dip and houses a Sony touchscreen head unit with backup camera over the A/C panel which is just above a row of unmarked toggle switches.  All the interior lights have been converted to LED including the instrument cluster and new factory carpet was installed at the time of the build.  Custom stitched leather surrounds the center console nicely matching the red stitched leather handle of the C6 Z06 shifter.  Rounding out this clean interior is a custom 5 point roll cage and red trimmed carpet in the cargo area and in the trunk.

Drivetrain
Under the hood is a 388ci LS V8 with 525 horsepower.  How it got there includes to following mods: Weston sleeved LSA block, Callies DragonSlayer crank, Oliver billet I-beam rods, BTR custom spec Wiseco 11-1 pistons, CCP JAM CAM, .608i/.615e Lift, 230i/242e Duration @ .050, Comp short travel link bar lifters, Lingenfelter WOT shift box, and a Lingenfelter 2 step box.  The fuel system is up to the task as well with the following additions: FAST fuel rails, ported FAST intake manifold, Haltech CAI 90mm throttle body, LS7 style MAF, 60lb FIC injectors, black AN lines, and a Lingenfelter in tank pump.  A T56 6-speed manual includes a New McLeod Street Extreme clutch, aluminum flywheel, and 3.5" HD shaft torque tube heading back to the transaxle with 3.42 gears and limited slip.  Power disc brakes are on all four wheels.

Undercarriage
Hat tip to Kooks for some great components underneath that begins with race headers, an off road 3" X-pipe which connects to the Billy Boat Bullet cat back exhaust, stainless tailpipes and polished tips.  No cats.  No mufflers.  Pure flow.  Standard Z06 suspension here includes Viking shocks and bushings that are four years old.  The undercarriage is clean, free of surface rust, oil, and road dirt.

Drive-Ability
This is not your grandfather's Z06, but it might explain why he can't hear anymore.  Just kidding, but she does put out a mighty roar that bounces off the hills of Morgantown.  The seats are appropriately race firm and race supportive and intended for ¼ miles runs as opposed to long trips, but they are comfortable for our jaunt around the test loop, or should we call it a track today?  The car has ungodly power underfoot and handles exactly how a high performance Z06 would and all functional items in this street beast operate as they should.  While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase.

If you're looking for a spicy Corvette, this pepper red trimmed specimen is your antidote to your "need for speed".  It's a road rocket that shows as well as it goes and if you tried to replicate the build, chances are you'd be spending quite a chunk of change above the asking price.  And you're not just buying a build, you're buying experiences that will last a lifetime, 11 seconds, (or 10.7), and 1,320 feet at a time.
