This impressive vintage bib necklace features intricate floral and sunburst medallions with delicate granulation work. Measures 18” with a 2” extender. Necklace is just about 1/2” wide. Total weight is 60g, so maybe 59g are sterling if you account for the parts that didn’t test. The main body of the necklace is solid sterling silver, acid-tested for purity, while the clasp has been replaced and is silver plated with some copper showing. Also the two anchor points for the clasp ring and jump ring tested as a lower quality silver or silver plate. The extension chain did test as sterling as well. I have not cleaned this piece other than rub a polishing cloth over the high points add a sparkle. I think the patina is fantastic. This is a substantial, handcrafted piece that drapes beautifully, perfect for a bold Boho or Southwestern look. I can’t find any maker’s marks, but it is clearly very well made. I test all of my sterling with JSP Silver Testing acid - we are looking for a red reaction. I test all of my stones with the Presidium Gem Tester 2. Message questions and thanks.
