A beautiful 1850 to 1860s southeastern Pennsylvania crock - likely made by Richard C Remmey of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This is an exceptional salt glaze crock with lovely downward cobalt plant swag motif. I really like the cobalt glaze on this one as it has a nice speckled pattern. Moderate condition. It has one or two minor very small rim chips that are old. A hairline to the shoulder and a crack to the base. Please review photos.
The crock measures just shy of 9 inches tall and is a lovely piece of Americana.
