Background

Works by Kashu Kiyomitsu have long been highly regarded, not only today but also during the Edo period, as excellent cutting swords classified as Wazamono.

Kashu Kiyomitsu is also famous as the maker of the beloved sword of Okita Soji, the first unit captain of the Shinsengumi. Okita Soji was known as one of the strongest swordsmen of the Shinsengumi and was also admired as a handsome and popular figure.
