Gibson Sheryl Crow Signature Country Western 2008 LR Baggs Acoustic Guitar
Description
Born in Missouri, USA, Sheryl Crow was introduced to music from a young age and began her musical career at age 17. She's a world-renowned singer-songwriter who has won numerous Grammy Awards and regularly performs. This instrument is a signature model based on her 1962 Country Western. It's a used 2008 model. It features a spruce top, mahogany back and sides, a mahogany neck, a rosewood fingerboard and bridge, Kluson white button triple tuning machines, a pearl headstock logo, crown headstock inlays, a double-line rosette, double parallelogram fingerboard inlays, a three-pointed large pickguard, scalloped X bracing, and an L.R.Baggs Element. Originally, the Country Western was a natural-colored Southern Jumbo guitar, first sold in 1954 under the name SJN (Southern Jumbo Natural). The Country Western name was added the following year, and the two names have since switched back and forth several times. Around 1962-1963, the guitar changed from round shoulders to square shoulders, and a three-pointed edged pickguard like the Hummingbird was introduced. While its unique name makes it a somewhat obscure model, it can be considered a premium model over the J-50. Sheryl Crow favored and used this model, and has released several limited-edition signature models. The square shoulder model offers the open resonance, dry tone, and punchiness characteristic of Gibson. Its mid-range peak and well-defined resonance are appealing. It also has a good amount of volume, with a pleasantly percussive attack. Compared to round shoulders like the J-45 and Southern Jumbo, the bass compression is slightly reduced, providing ample headroom. It's also suitable for simple finger-picking and singing. Even non-Sheryl Crow fans will appreciate the high level of detail and sound. The pickups are L.R.Baggs Element. The under-saddle piezo pickup delivers a distinctive, crisp tone that captures the core of the sound, making it versatile enough to be used in a band or for solo performances. The slightly warm line sound effectively reproduces the softness of live sound, making this a highly acclaimed pickup system. There's a slight area of paint on the bottom side of the guitar next to the end jack that appears to have reacted to something, but it's minor and doesn't affect use. Other than that, the guitar is in excellent condition, with only faint scratches from playing. The neck is well-tuned for playability, providing a comfortable action. Equipped with a pickup, this is a guitar you'll want to put in the hard work. This Sheryl Crow model has been produced many times, and its popularity continues to grow, so there are likely many people searching for it. This country western model will satisfy even those outside of Sheryl's fan base, so be sure to consider it. A gig bag is included.
