IMPORTANT: Thuraya does not offer global coverage so please ensure that the region you wish to use the network in is available on the coverage map which you can find in the images. This includes North and South America, Australia and parts of Asia.
Thuraya Standard Prepaid SIM cards are compatible with all Thuraya satellite phone handsets and offer flexible and reliable global connectivity across Thuraya’s entire coverage area. This SIM provides straightforward, flat-rate calling from any location within the Thuraya network footprint, ensuring consistent rates without geographic zone differences.
Standard Prepaid SIM cards are valid for 12 months from the date of activation and can easily be extended by recharging with Thuraya prepaid airtime vouchers. The SIM will be sent inactive—please contact GTC to activate your SIM once received in the post. Validity will begin upon activation.
Additional credit can be added at any time, allowing you to manage your usage and renew your validity period conveniently. Ideal for users requiring dependable satellite communication without regional rate variations, the Thuraya Standard Prepaid SIM ensures seamless voice, SMS, and data connectivity wherever Thuraya service is available.

Voice Calls to Band 1 per min - 1.50 Units

First call must be made within 12 months.
If a call is not made within the first 12 months from the date of activation, the SIM will enter dormancy status and a fee of $19 will be deducted from the balance every month till call is made.
Thuraya Prepaid Plan has a validity of 365 days from first call.
Annual Renewal Fee: $39.00 (39 Units deducted automatically from balance on renewal date)
Annual renewal fee is waived for heavy users (over $1500 of satellite calls per year).
Upon expiry, account balance is reset to zero and the account enters the 365-day grace period (Incoming calls are still possible).
If account is not refilled within the grace period, it will be deactivated and the number will be lost.
Dormancy Fee: If there is no activity on your SIM card for 12 months+ (e.g. making a call), then a dormancy fee of $19.00 will be deducted from your SIM card. If you have a balance with less than $19.00, then the entire balance will be deducted.
Please note whilst our Thuraya SIM cards are compatible with older Hughes phones such as the 7100/7101, these are end of life and we do not offer any technical support once a SIM is active.
