The new, lightweight, rugged satellite GPS communicator from Garmin is here: the inReach® Mini 2. Seemingly identical to its predecessor, the inReach® Mini 2 comes packed with a host of new and improved features and an updated user interface to keep you on track when you go off-grid.

The new and improved Garmin inReach® Mini 2 is as compact as it is intelligent, brimming with satellite communication features and a long-life battery to keep your adventure alive for longer.

Stay in touch via the globally-reaching Iridium satellite network. With two-way messaging you can update friends and family, enjoy reliable navigation features, and, in a worst-case scenario, use the SOS functionality for emergency assistance.


Key Features:

  • SMS: Send a message through your device to an email address or SMS number. Not all mobile networks allow sending text messages to satellite networks, so messaging can be unreliable. Check with your provider or contact us for details.
  • Tracking: Automated tracking allows contacts back home to follow your journey or lets you monitor the movement of your assets.
  • SOS: Pressing the emergency button sends your location to a rescue coordination centre via satellite. The SOS is then diverted to local emergency services, with continuous location updates for a minimum of 24 hours.
  • Custom Messages: Type and send custom messages to friends, family, or colleagues—ideal for staying in contact while on the move.
  • Pre-Defined Messages: Set up frequently used messages before your trip, which can be sent at the touch of a button with no typing required (e.g., “Running late,” “Arrived safely”).
  • 2-Way Messaging: Messages can be both sent and received by this device.
  • Navigation: Built-in navigation features include current location, waypoint marking, route preplanning, and trip information. Some models also include an altimeter and/or compass.

    GTC offers flexible Garmin inReach subscription plans for devices like the inReach Mini 2, Explorer+, and GPSMAP 66i, with monthly fees starting at £12.99. Plans include global coverage via the Iridium satellite network, interactive SOS alerts, two-way messaging, GPS location sharing, and weather updates. Users can customize tracking intervals, send preset or custom messages, and access advanced navigation features like TracBack routing and a digital compass. Plans can be suspended for £4.99/month, and GTC provides UK-based customer support and access to Garmin’s online mapping portal.
