Martin D12-35 #310646 1972 Acoustic Guitar
Description
1972 D12-35 #310646This is the 12-string version of the D-35, which began production in 1965. It shares the D-35's signature features, such as a three-piece back, neck binding, and multi-binding body, with the 6-string model. The 12-string model features an S-type body with a 12th-fret joint, a slotted headstock, and a short 632.5mm scale length. We reset the neck, repaired a 15cm crack near the right shoulder of the top, and repainted the bridge. The pickguard, nut, and saddle have also been replaced, but the rest of the guitar is original, including the paint. The neck has been thoroughly adjusted and repaired, and is in excellent condition. The string height above the 12th fret is set at 2.6mm for the 6th string and 1.8mm for the 1st string, providing comfortable playability. There is also some room for fine adjustments to the saddle height. While there are minor scratches, weathering, and some dulling of the finish, this is a lovely vintage piece. While it doesn't have the volume or power of a 6-string model, the sparkling, vibrant sound when played is typical of a Martin! While pressing the strings takes some getting used to, the tension is set to be soft, making it easy to play. It's priced at a great bargain, so be sure to add it to your arsenal for recording or on stage![SPECS]Body Size: Dreadnought (12-Fret Joint)Top: Solid Sitka SpruceSides: Solid Indian Rosewood (3-Piece)Back: Solid Indian Rosewood (3-Piece)Neck: MahoganyFingerboard: EbonyBridge: EbonyPickguard: Black (Replacement)Color: NaturalScale: Approx. 632.5mmNut Width: Approx. 47mmIncludes a standard hard case----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Product DetailsMartin / 1972 D12-35 #310646Color: Natural/Wood GrainCondition: B+: Excellent for normal useYear of Manufacture: 1972Top Material: SpruceSides Material: RosewoodBack Material: RosewoodBody Size: DreadnoughtAccessories: Hard case
