This black Sony HDR-PJ660E 64GB Handycam HD Camcorder is a full HD PAL-standard camcorder capable of capturing 1920 x 1080 HD video at 50p and cinema-style video at 25fps. It features a 5MP sensor and produces 20.4MP still photos by means of Sony's interpolation technology called "By-Pixel Super Resolution Technology." It has 64GB of internal flash memory and a media card slot compatible with SD, SDHC, and SDXC memory cards, and Sony Memory Stick Pro-HG Duo, Memory Stick Pro Duo Mark 2, and Memory Stick XC-HG Duo memory cards. The internal memory can store from approximately 5 to 25 hours of footage, depending on the quality mode you select.

The 5MP sensor is a back-illuminated Exmor R CMOS sensor designed for low light sensitivity. The image processor is a Sony BIONZ processor, designed with a focus on color and detail. The lens is an integrated Sony G zoom lens that opens wide up to 26.8mm. An included lens hood will help protect against lens flare. An integrated SteadyShot stabilization system reduces camera shake and helps deliver smooth moving images.

A very powerful projector is built into the camcorder. It can be pointed at any light-colored wall to project anything that you have recorded, whether it be videos or still photos. The projector features screen coverage of up to 100" diagonally.

1080/25/50p and 20.4MP Still Images

This HD Handycam features a 5MP backside-illuminated Exmor R CMOS sensor that captures up to 1920 x 1080 25p/50p HD videos. The sensor produces 20.4MP HD still photos by means of Sony's interpolation technology called "By-Pixel Super Resolution Technology." Exmor R sensors, designed for compact cameras and camcorders, relocates the photo diodes above the support circuitry, maximizing the light gathering area per pixel and achieving better results in low light conditions.

24p/25p CinemaTone

Give your videos a cinematic look and feel with CinemaTone Gamma and CinemaTone Color. Simply switch on this mode and mimic the film look in your videos.

Built-In Projector

A built-in projector, which can be directed at any white or light-colored wall to display your videos at anytime, features screen coverage of up to 100" diagonal. You can project your footage directly from the camera and share your recordings with others without having them crowd around the LCD screen.

Sony G Zoom Lens

This lens has a 35mm equivalent of 26.8mm at the wide end of the focal range. A 12x optical zoom is supported by a 20x extended zoom and a 160x digital zoom. A removable lens hood is included to block unwanted light from entering the lens and causing undesirable flare in the shot.

Balanced Optical SteadyShot

This feature keeps the lens and image sensor together as one optical block floating inside the camera body. As the camera is moved the entire optical block moves as one unit, maintaining the integrity of the optical path and improving shake reduction. Another benefit of this image stabilization system is that it also reduces vignetting (light falloff towards the edges of the frame) and lowers distortion in videos and still photos.

Color EVF

A 0.27" color viewfinder displays a crisp representation of your video and allows increased run time when used instead of the LCD screen.

3.0" Xtra Fine LCD Touchscreen Display

A 3.0" 16:9 LCD features touchscreen control over camera functions for adjusting settings to best capture a scene.

AVCHD or MP4 Recording Formats

You can choose between the AVCHD or MP4 format to capture videos in. AVCHD capture is great for large screen HDTVs, and MP4 is the better choice for videos you want to quickly share on the Web.
