Original silk presidential reception ribbon issued for a public appearance by President Theodore Roosevelt during his Western tour of 1903. This example commemorates Roosevelt’s visit to Helena, Montana on May 27, 1903, clearly printed on the ribbon.


The piece features a gilt “Reception” top bar suspending a patriotic red, white, and blue silk ribbon, with an original portrait celluloid medallion depicting Roosevelt and titled “Our President – Theodore Roosevelt.” These reception ribbons were worn by invited attendees and officials and were produced in limited quantities for specific events.
