Here is a nice vintage A R Seidel Violin from Germany for your buying consideration. Would make a great gift or keep for yourself!

This violin has a label in it that says A R Seidel and was made in Mittenwald, Germany in 1985. The violin dates to 1988. This is an Antonius Stradivarius model (not a real Stradivari). If we find a real Stradivari, we will be glad to sell it to you for $10 million US! When brought to the United States this violin was professionally adjusted by Glaesel, per a separate paper label inside the violin dated 1988.

The pictures do not do justice to the beauty of this violin. The violin has a two piece soundboard and two piece back. Beautiful tiger maple striping on the back of the violin. Nice redddish brown stain on the of the entire violin. Some minor finish loss over the years to the body of the violin. I see no repairs to the body of the violin, the neck or the scroll to report to you. Some finish loss along the edges and on the back. Nice purfling (painted on), f hole, and scroll work. The corner blocks are in place. The beaks look good. The fingerboard has no ridging that would impede string play. The four tuning pegs are in place. The soundboard and back are tightly glued to the sides, no separations to report.

The sound post is up inside the violin body. No guarantee it will stay in position while being shipped to you. Nice two piece back on this fiddle. We see no cracks or repairs on it to report. The back's finish has a translucent look to it. The purfling is painted on, not inlay. The violin strings are not in place. Comes with an Aubert bridge. The chin rest, bridge and tailpiece are with the violin. There is also a Kun shoulder rest that was not pictured with the violin and other trappings. In good condition.

The violin is 23-1/16" long, by 8.25" across at the lower bout and 6-5/8 across at the upper bout. The violin body is 14-1/16" long.

This musical instrument is not represented to be in playing condition. There will need to be refurbishing done to make this instrument playable again. Let us know if you have any questions or need additional pictures.

Comes with a semi-hard case made by Heritage. The latches and lock latch on the case work, top attached to base. The violin comes with an unmarked (no maker name or country noted) violin bow as well. The horsehair is worn and will need replacing. No, cracks, splits or repairs to the bow. The violin bow is 29-1/8" long and weighs 2.2 ounces (62 grams).
