Seaward PrimeTest 50 PAT Tester

Seaward's PrimeTest 50 is an entry-level PAT tester for checking the electrical safety of appliances. Highly recommended for use in smaller applications such as charity shops, an office, a smaller school, care homes and anywhere else with a small amount of appliances to test, the PrimeTest 50 is an excellent choice for any organisation who would like to do PAT testing themselves, or as an introductory unit for those new to the PAT testing field.

Lightweight, Portable and Simple-To-Use

PAT testing doesn't have to be difficult - Seaward's PrimeTest 50 makes performing all the basic tests you'll need to ensure full compliance with the IET Code of Practice as simple and intuitive as possible. This portable, manual PAT tester includes a number of things which make it incredibly easy to use, such as:

• Simple Test Activation - to test with the PrimeTest 50, all you need to do is connect to the appliance you want to test, then press the correct button. There are just three buttons on the PT50: one for class I earthed appliances, one for class II double-insulated appliances and one for testing cords such as power leads
• Lightweight, Portable Design - Seaward's PrimeTest 50 can be comfortably held in one hand and is ideal for porting from test to test. There's no need to bring the appliance to the tester; thanks to the PT50's portable nature, you can take the tester to the appliance
• PASS/FAIL Indication - the PrimeTest 50 does not show full test readings - it simply shows whether an appliance has passed/failed the PAT testing procedure. If you require full test readings, consider upgrading to the PrimeTest 100 instead
• Built-in IEC and Mains Socket Ports - the PT50 is ready to connect to a wide variety of 3-pin plug appliances as well as IEC power leads (for example laptop power supply leads)
• Battery Powered - this PAT tester runs on 6 x AA batteries, with no need to connect to a mains socket
• Incorrect Connection Indication - if you've initiated the wrong test on the wrong appliance or forgot to switch the appliance on when testing, the PrimeTest 50 will let you know

What Tests Does the PrimeTest 50 Perform?

When you're testing, the PrimeTest 50 will automatically cycle through the appropriate tests for the type of appliance connected to it as soon as you press the testing button. It can perform the following:

• Earth Continuity Test - with IT-Safe 200mA DC current to ensure you can safely check sensitive IT equipment
• Insulation Resistance Test - with test voltage of 250/500V DC
• IEC Lead Tests - checks earth continuity, insulation resistance and live/neutral continuity and polarity
• Power Socket Tests - plug the PT50 into a power outlet and it can even be used to check socket wiring and mains voltage

Free Seaward PATMobile App

Optimised for use with Seaward’s PrimeTest PAT Testers, the Seaward PATMobile App (available for free from GooglePlay**) is a manual data entry app suitable for recording and organising data, managing assets and records, and producing and exporting PDF and CSV reports on-site.

As a result of the Seaward PATMobile App’s quick and intuitive interface, accessing features, functions and settings is fast and simple. This easy-to-use, efficient and effective app is equipped with the following tools:

• A powerful search and filter for accessing required data
• A dashboard for managing assets enabling the user to see when appliances are out-of-date
• Integrated calculators for risk-assessments and resistance
• User customisation: the user can upload a company logo and signature for inclusion in reports

It also features the following capabilities:

• Recording and managing data
• Creating PDF reports
• Creating CSV reports
• Exporting CSV and PDF reports via email
• Scanning 1D and 2D barcodes (using the smartphone’s/ tablet’s camera)
• Scanning Seward Apollo QR codes (using the smartphone/ tablet’s camera)
• Auto-incrementing asset IDs
• Incorporating photos captured using the smartphone’s/ tablet’s camera into asset reports and records
• Printing labels wirelessly via Bluetooth when used with Seaward’s Test n Tag Pro Printer and compatible labels (sold separately)
