Vintage Heddon Chugger Spook topwater fishing lure, model 9540 RH, produced in the United States during the 1950s–early 1960s. This is an original Heddon plastic lure, not wood, featuring the classic Red Head / Silver Scale finish with a molded body and factory painted eyes.

Designed as a topwater chugger / popping spook, this lure combines a cupped face with a surface-skimming retrieve to create a loud chugging action that draws aggressive strikes. It measures approximately 3½ inches in length and is rigged with two original treble hooks attached to factory hardware.

The silver scale pattern remains visible along the sides, and the body retains the correct factory “HEDDON CHUGGER SPOOK” stamp. A proven freshwater surface bait originally intended for bass, pike, and muskie, this lure also displays extremely well as part of a vintage Heddon or classic topwater collection.
