cosmetics

My eyesight does not allow me anymore to see at naked eye any relevant defects. My written description concerning cosmetics is based in the high magnification pictures I provide. Please check them in a computer screen, as I am not sure that a mobile phone display can give you all the details that you can see in a big full HD screen.

dial: The original dial is in excellent condition with small signs of age! - see the pictures and make your opinion.

hands: the hands are in excellent condition - see the pictures and make your opinion.

case: stainless steel case looks in excellent condition albeit some small scratches - see the pictures and make your opinion.

The crystal: is plastic / Plexiglas. It has no ugly scratches, no cracking and no glazing. It has the Omega logo in the center - see the pictures and make your opinion.

The used but not abused genuine leather bracelet is a gift that goes with the watch. It is not from Omega, but the buckle is.

Inside the watch:

Swiss made, Omega Automatic movement.

Service history: Not recently serviced.

Working condition:

1 - Working well.

2 - Starts upon winding, there is no need to shake it.

3 - Runs very strong with a fast high rate beat when pressed against the ear.

4 - Time setting and winding are both smooth.

5 – Has worked more than 24 hours without stopping

To get you a rough idea about the watch accuracy, I do a simple amateur testing which consists in leaving the watch flat on its back, and seeing the results after 12 and 24 hours. Using the watch on the wrist will give different results for sure, as the watch will be subject to different dynamic positions.

These home tests are not a warranty of repeatability or accuracy.

No matter how good the test results may look, the watch is sold as is, without any sort of warranty.

If it is not stated that the watch has been serviced recently you would better consider a revision by an expert watchmaker, no matter how good the test results may look. This applies to every vintage watch not just this one. As a general rule manufacturer's recommend a revision every five/six years. Wearing a watch everyday with dry oil will lead to quicker deterioration of pieces.

Please note:

1 - The watch should not be used in the water! All diving watches, even recent, should be sent for a qualified water sealing service each year prior to diving season.

2 - Any acrylic or metallic display that might appear in the pictures is not included in the sale.

Remember that seeing the item at very high magnification, as in the pictures that I provide, brings to life small defects that the human eye does not perceive. That is why many people will like even more the watch after seeing it for real.

Please take a look at my other auctions and at my excellent feedback!

Condition: Please refer to the pictures for a complete perception of the item’s condition. This will be more precise and effective than my eyesight or judgment.

All pictures are of the actual item. Photos are not retouched or edited to mask defects. Please take time to enlarge the all the photos for the clearest, largest images. Photos usually disclose the condition much better than a written description as many people have a different idea on what words or terms may mean. If an identifying mark or defect is visible on the photo it is considered disclosed to the buyer.

If you don’t see it in the pictures and it is not mentioned in the description, then it is not included in the auction!

I aim to provide as much details concerning the auction as possible, because I feel that from a buyer's standpoint there is nothing more uncomfortable than unpleasant surprises.

International Buyers - important notes

Registered Economic/standard shipping is available for European countries only.

Due to tracking failure, shipping to all countries outside Europe will have to be by Fedex or UPS.

Tracking

Registered shipping (requiring your signature upon reception) can be tracked directly from the eBay page or on the shipping company website

Insurance

Insurance for loss is included at a cost of 2% of item's value. Insurance will be provided by a third party, not by the post, since I could not find a courier that insures collectibles, precious objects and watches.

By buying or making an offer you agree with all that is stated above.

Please skip this auction/sale if you don't agree with everything or if you disagree with something that is stated, thanks!
