Offered is a 1955 Topps No. 136 Bunky Stewart Major League
Baseball card that has been graded PSA NM 7. PSA has assigned serial number 01550555
to this graded card.
Born Veston Goff Stewart in 1931, he would go on to play in
all or part of 5 Major League Baseball seasons with the hapless Washington
Senators. Stewart would compile an ERA of 6.01 and a 5-11 Win-Loss record during
his career. Like all 1955 Topps baseball cards, this card carries Stewart’s
autograph wherein he uses the name “Veston.”
PSA has graded 213 examples of this card in PSA NM 7 condition
with just 141 graded higher. A PSA Mint 9 example sold at auction in October
2025 for $1,708.00 by Heritage Auctions of Dallas. As Heritage’s catalogue
entry states, Stewart’s
“1955 Topps card, #136, is part of the
company’s vibrantly formatted release and
represents his only Topps-issue card.”
Three reported Heritage auction prices between March 2017 and October
2025 show this PSA Mint 9 card’s auction price Compound Annual Growth Rate at a
sizeable 14.2 percent per year. The scarcity and rapidly growing demand for
these increasingly hard-to-find 1955 Topps cards in higher states of
preservation suggest this visually appealing specimen has excellent upside
investment potential.
