THIS LISTING IS FOR A MANCE LIPSCOMB ORIGINAL MID SIXTIES POSTER

These are original posters from the mid sixties for legendary bluesman  MANCE LIPSCOMB. It features a great photo of MANCE LIPSCOMB playing guitar.  This poster came from the founder of Arhoolie records Chris Strachwitz who had them made to promote performances in the Bay Area. This poster is a show blank. When venues were set up and dates set these were written in or printed in the box in the bottom.  The last picture shows a companion poster that I have listed for Mance Lipscomb the poster in the ART OF ROCK with a venue printed on the poster.

MANCE LIPSCOMB:  Mance Lipscomb was an American blues singer, guitarist and songster. He was born Beau De Glen Lipscomb near Navasota, Texas. As a youth he took the name Mance from a friend of his oldest brother, Charlie. Following his discovery by McCormick and Chris  Strachwitz, Lipscomb became an important figure in the American folk music revival of the 1960s. He was a regular performer at folk festivals and folk-blues clubs around the United States, notably the Ash Grove in Los Angeles, California. He was known not only for his singing and intricate guitar style, but also as a storyteller and country "sage".
