2,424 DIGITAL MAPS FOR NORTH DAKOTA!!

Available here is a complete set of digitally scanned topographic maps created by the United States Geological Survey (USGS).

These maps have been scanned by the USGS from original maps created by them and are of the best available quality.  Please take a look at the various pictures to get an idea of what these digital maps look like.  The examples provided are not necessarily from this state, rather they show what the map types look like.  Every scanned map is the full version with complete map collar.  These example images are cropped sections from the scans.

Between the years of 1886 and 2006 the USGS created over 178,000 topographic maps with complete coverage of all 50 states and 5 territories, with additional maps created for Palau and Micronesia.

Various scales of maps were created over the years with complete coverage of the lower 48 in the scales of 1:250,000, 1:100,000 and 1:24,000 with the 1:24,000 (7.5 minute) being the most detailed.  All other scales, such as the 1:62,500 (15 minute) only partial coverage was available due to the cancellation of the various other scales.

This set includes ALL scanned images of maps for ALL scales created for this state, regardless of if the scale series was completed or not.  ALL maps scales, with variations for each scale is included in this set.

Most maps were updated over the years, so this set includes all available updated versions as well.  Some maps also have more than one version per year.

This set also includes images of available index maps for easy locating.  All states have index maps for complete coverage of the 1:250,000, 1:100,000 and 1:24,000 scales of maps while most also have indexes for the 1:62,500 maps that were finished.

The format of these digital maps is GEOpdf, and are zipped (compressed) to save disk space.  The zipped file, along with supporting files, are on a NEW SD card with the capacity depending on the amount of digital maps per state.  Please be aware, the package for the SD will be carefully opened so the files can be added to the SD card.
