The Straight Key R5 is an updated version of my R4 Key. 

It is designed as a low cost, low maintenance key, ideal for QRP, Learning Key, or even your normal operating key.

The R5 was created to allow the user to change the wiring to allow the key to be used on rigs with an internal keyer which support 'Semi-Automatic' emulation as the 'Dah' paddle. This allows owners of rigs like the Xeigu G90 to attach the key with a 3.5mm Stereo through cable without creating a wiring adapter.

- You can adjust the key's throw (contact distance), and the tension.

- No springs to lose, the key uses repelling magnets instead of a spring.

- Key fits Key Bases with 1-1/2” spaced mounting holes.

- Updated arm support mount.

- 2 User adjustable contact modes: Normal and Bug Mode.

   * In 'Normal Mode' the key is wired as a standard Straight Key.

   * In 'Bug Mode' the key used with a keyer using the semi-automatic "dah" contact.
