CORPS MEMORABLE

Text by Paul Eluard, photographs by Lucien Clergue (1965)

Limited printing of this notable photobook, with dust jacket design by Pablo Picasso.

Very good+ in a very good jacket.

Includes twelve photographs by Lucien Clergue. With an opening dedicatory poem for Clergue by Jean Cocteau. "This book, with its distinctive cover by Picasso, was the first mainstream publication to show female pubic hair, allowable only because Clergue did not show the faces of his models, which gave rise to considerable controversy" (Parr & Badger I, 192f).

Paris: Pierre Seghers, (1965). Hardcover. 8vo. Boards in paper covers. Interior pages lightly toned towards edges, but clean and unmarked. Near fine vintage book in a very good jacket, now in a removable mylar sleeve.
