FROM BAVARIA, GERMANY AND IS IN ABSOLUTELY PERFECT CONDITION. This plate is from the famous Fraureuth Porcelain Co. located in the heart of Bavaria, Germany. It has the hand written numbers 22/157 and the number 40 also handwritten underneath, on its reverse side. It was most likely produced from the 1900s until the early 1930s, when these Gold Bordered Plates were extremely popular before the depression. These plates feature a very wide heavy 24 K gold band with an highly embossed design filigree pattern edge on a beautiful white porcelain glazed center. The design is showing 9 repeating patterns of highly intricately designed floral and scrolls motif separated by circles and ovals. Often the specific pattern name is not explicitly listed on the plate but the style is consistently identified as a “Heavy Gold Encrusted” 24 K Gold border. All of the Gold is completely in tact with none of it missing or discolored in any way, was can be seen in the photographs. I will leave its cleaning up to its new owner. The porcelain plate is also in perfect condition. These decorative designs shows the intricate details and craftsmanship, making this plate so desirable, and its in absolute perfect condition, and were mainly used for decorative purposes on the dining room table. When serving dinner on the "other" plates, these decorative gold plated were collected and put aside, thus keeping them in pristine condition, as we have one here. This plate especially was never used as a serving piece on a table, because I found it hanging on a wire frame on the wall in the dining room just as a fabulous piece of art would be placed. On its back side is the authentic stamped insignia, "Fraureuth", and the word "Germany". It measures 10 1/4 inches across and stands about 1 3/16 inches high. I have been collecting unusual vintage objects for many years, and always try to describe the item as best as I can. There are absolutely no flaws that I can see anywhere on the plate, including no chips, cracks, fleabites, scratches, stains, or repairs. It comes from a smoke-free home.
