COMMENTS ::

QUESTIONS : As with all these LPS especially that i am selling - please do not hesitate to contact me with any specific questions, however trivial or specific. I will try and answer them as clearly, in detail and also as honestly as possible. I am not a dealer – just a huge music fan (and former music journalist) who is having a clear out – having collected since the 1980s

Condition. : I take a great deal of effort in describing these items in as much detail as possible. I am also as accurate as possible. Obviously I dont have the time or ability (or in some cases the desire!) to listen to these LPs. So grading is visual. Please note as well though – a lot of my discs are dusty and would benefit from a clean – see photos! All my records are dusty – they have sat in cupboards for decades (except where stated!) – usually boxed in batches of 100 or so – so lot of photos show the dust – will try and describe any damage in as much detail as possible … Please note also when getting photos of the vinyl you can sometimes see the chandelier above or my hand and the camera ! – showing generally how good the vinyl is! I try and view it and describe in as much detail as possible – but do sometimes miss things! Never intentional.

Also please ask for more images – happy to send if time allows.

REFUNDS: With my LPs only however please be clear - I do not accept people contacting me after auctions to ask for partial refunds when i have tried to give as much detail as possible – both in text and in the photos of the item. Happy to refund in full upon return of item - return post paid by buyer (except where i am factually wrong obviously). This is not personal - just from experience I have had 2 people contact to say they want partial refund or will leave bad feedback! Thats just blackmail as well as horrible!!

I try to be as accurate as possible and use the below system as closely as possible –

Please note – especially with batches / job lots of vinyl – especially 7” singles I have tried to describe as much as possible but it is not always possible to catch everything  - a specific mark on the vinyl or even damage on the sleeve. Please ask or study photos clearly if there is a specific disc you are bidding for … I reiterate again  - I am not a dealer, just a guy trying to get his music out to other fans!! I have loved this collection but my wife is adamant I need to thin it out! (I think she’s right!) …  Though I was and am a fan of 50+ years – and have worked for music magazines and more recently websites – I am selling items which often were sent since the mid 80s onwards as promos and some might even be unplayed – so absolutely mint. Where I say unplayed I am 99% certain I didn’t listen to them when sent and just put them in a the pile to listen to – but that became too big and I never got round to it!! Please note when I say import as well – when speculating on the country of origin I am only using some of the text I can see on the vinyl or the sleeve – so please look at photos to be certain / make up your own mind!

  I am not a dealer – just a fan as I said – so this also means I am open to considering offers – usually on the second time of listing. Please offer away and if remains unsold will usually accept (generally as long as I break even after Ebay fees , postage etc!)

 Please also be aware that I price my starting auctions sometimes on 1) how much I want to keep the LP! – 2) how much I think it might be in demand on ebay 3) how much the condition vs age. It is all an art certainly not a science and I am also open to considering all kinds of offers – from super high to super low…. In some cases I just want to clear postage and cost of new LP envelopes and Ebay fees (run at about 25%) – so will consider most offers if item is a relisting. First listing I tend to let it run its course – and invariably the items that get offers will often sell at auction! Most items I just want to go to someone who will appreciate and enjoy the item!

Geography note as well – I am more than happy to meet to save on postage. I live in Edinburgh but also visit south Norfolk from time to time if either of these locations suit!!

Plus I am more than happy to consider offers on a few items – though sometimes if the offers are low acceptance is conditional on the assumption that it includes the postage fees for 2+ of the items! – but again offer away!!

Please note I post most of my items in Vinyl record envelopes. –I try and package well. But sometimes things get broken or damaged. Please contact me.

GRADING SYSTEM:

M Mint: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint. But in some instances it will not be SEALED – as the item was never sealed in the first place!

Ex Excellent: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing. Generally please look at the photos for an accurate representation of the item. In all cases what I am selling is what I have taken photos of !!

Vg VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

G GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

F FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.

The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

P POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
