Jewish-Persian illuminated Manuscript Painting

Jewish-Persian illuminated manuscript painting, framed and matted behind glass in a gilded-black wooden frame, image displays a page from a Judeo-Persian illuminated manuscript, specifically identified as part of the Ardashirnama written by the Jewish poet Shahin-i Shirazi. The text is written in Judeo-Persian, which uses the Hebrew alphabet to transcribe the Persian language.

The manuscript fuses ancient Iranian history with the biblical Book of Esther.

It was created for the Jewish community living in Iran during the Safavid Empire.

The illustrated scene at the bottom depicts figures in traditional Persian style, engaging in activities such as playing musical instruments (a lute and a drum) and dancing.

The artwork reflects the integration of Jewish and Iranian cultural identities during that period.

Artwork is in very good condition. Please check the pictures.
