This ticket stub is authentic and original. This is the first of many related items I am listing.

This was my grandmother's ticket, and these were "her" dodgers!

This is a ticket stub to a Dodgers vs. Cardinals game held on Friday, July 17, 1953, played at Ebbets Field in Brooklyn, NY. The ticket stub is not graded. It has been in a sleeve since the day of the game over 70 years ago!!

It was a doubleheader that day. The Dodgers won both games a shut-out 14-0 and the nightcap game 7-4.

Hall of Famer and Civil Rights icon Jackie Robinson slugged his 98th and 99th career home runs. His first home run, a solo shot off Gerry Staley, came in the second inning; then, in the 8th inning, Robinson hit a three-run home run off Hal White, which would prove to be the difference in the Dodgers' 7-4 victory.

Jackie Robinson hit his 98th and 99th career homeruns. Both runs occurred during the second nightcap game.

Aside from that, the lineup included other impressive players:

Roy Campanella who played in the starting lineup of both games that day and recorded a double.

Pee Wee Reese

Duke Snider

Carl Eskine

Gil Hodges

I believe there were 5-7 players that game that went on to enter the baseball hall of fame.

The 1953 season was a banner season for the Dodgers breaking records in attendance, 29,793 for that day, and finishing the season in first place dominating the national league with a franchise record. 105 wins for the season rolled to the National League Pennent.

Jackie Robinson was in the middle of a stellar personal season with the Dodgers, playing multiple positions 2nd base 3rd base 1st base and left field.

July 24.1953 a week after this game, Robinson hit his 100th homerun!!

Ticket stub condition: It looks great for its age. Photos can be enlarged. It's mostly very clean and flat, and I took as many photos in different lighting with and without flash to show its accurate condition. If you would like any other info or additional photos, I'm happy to oblige.

I've included a picture of the scorecard hand penciled by my grandmother from this game contained in the official program from that day. The program is not included in this listing, but I may consider listing it with the other ticket stubs I have or if there is interest in the prog
