SRS Airbag Module Crash Data Reset Service
THIS IS NOT AN ITEM FOR SALE.
THIS LISTING IS FOR CRASH DATA RESET SERVICE ONLY.
PICTURES ARE FOR ILLUSTRATION PURPOSE ONLY.
This means that you will need to send your original SRS airbag module to us for crash data reset.
This service is suitable if your vehicle has been involved in an accident and crash data is stored inside the SRS airbag module.
Crash data cannot normally be erased by standard diagnostic equipment. A replacement airbag module can be expensive and may also require coding to your vehicle. We can reset your original airbag module back to its original condition.
To check if we can reset your module, please send us the part number shown on your airbag module. If you are unsure which number to send, please send us clear pictures of your SRS module from both sides.
The price shown on this listing applies only to the part numbers stated in the listing title. Part numbers shown in the description are examples of modules we may be able to help with. Please contact us to confirm price and availability before purchase if your number is different.
Important
This listing is for crash data reset only. If your module has an internal fault, no communication, water damage, or physical damage, crash data reset may not fix the problem. It is the buyer's responsibility to diagnose the fault in the vehicle before purchase.
If you or somebody else has already tried to open, test, or repair the module, we cannot guarantee that the module can still be repaired or reset.
How It Works - 3 Simple Steps
- Remove your SRS airbag module from your vehicle and match the part number with the part number stated in the title.
- Purchase this listing and securely send your SRS module to us. Please include your eBay username, return address, phone number and email address inside the parcel.
- Once we receive your unit, we will clean the crash data from your SRS module on the same or next working day and send it back to you.
Internal Fault Information
Sometimes the airbag warning light can stay on even if the vehicle has not been involved in an accident. This normally means that the SRS airbag control unit has developed an internal fault.
Internal faults can be caused by corrupted data, damaged hardware, electrical surges, water damage or component failure inside the module.
Replacing Your Airbag ECU
If you need to replace the airbag ECU, the best way to make sure the replacement is compatible is to match the part numbers on the unit itself.
Please also make sure that the replacement module does not have crash data stored or an internal fault. If you buy a used SRS module, we may be able to program it to your vehicle for an extra cost.
The Crash Data Reset
The easiest way to get your airbag system back to a fully functional state after an accident is usually to reset the original airbag ECU from your vehicle.
One of the main advantages of resetting your original module is that it already has the correct coding for your vehicle, so in most cases no additional coding is required.
SRS Module Location
On most vehicles, the SRS airbag module is located under the centre console or below the dashboard area, bolted to the floor. It is usually a small metal unit with yellow connectors.
Removing And Refitting The Airbag Module
Professional removal and refitting is always recommended.
Before disconnecting the module, disconnect the negative battery terminal and wait several minutes before unplugging airbag connectors. Remove any trim or carpet carefully, remove the retaining bolts, disconnect the plugs and remove the module.
