This listing is for The Avengers #37 (Marvel Comics, February 1967) featuring the story “To Conquer a Colossus!” from the classic Silver Age run. Story is written by Roy Thomas, with interior art by Don Heck, letters by Artie Simek, and editing by Stan Lee. The striking cover, showcasing the giant ultroid looming over the team, is by Gil Kane with Don Heck, and captures the high-stakes sci-fi feel of this era. In this second part of the Ultroids storyline, the Avengers have been captured by Ixar’s robotic army and rocketed into space, where Ixar plans to drain their powers into his ultroid legion and merge them into a single colossal weapon. Black Widow, Hawkeye, Captain America, Goliath, the Wasp, Quicksilver, and Scarlet Witch must turn the tables on Ixar, rescue a threatened village, and stop Earth from falling to a cosmic conqueror.

Key issue notes (for buyers/collectors): Classic Silver Age Avengers with a prominent Black Widow appearance, plus Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch rejoining the team as they wrap up the battle against the Ultroids and Ixar. Great lineup of Avengers (Cap, Hawkeye, Goliath, Wasp, Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch, Black Widow) under the legendary Marvel Bullpen of Roy Thomas, Don Heck, Gil Kane, Artie Simek, and Stan Lee. This issue is a nice affordable way to pick up a vintage 12¢ Avengers with Black Widow and the mutant siblings back on the squad

Condition (in my opinion, not a professional grade – please review all photos): I would call this copy around GD/VG 3.0 on the CGC scale (approximate range 2.5–3.5). Front cover shows moderate overall wear with multiple color-breaking spine ticks, small edge and corner creases, rounded corners, and general surface/handling wear; gloss is mostly gone but colors are still presentable. Spine has visible stress and small splits/fraying at the ends with a slight spine roll. Back cover has light soiling and age toning with some foxing and edge wear. Page quality looks cream to tan with heavier browning at the edges typical of Silver Age newsprint, but still flexible from what I can see in the photos. I do not see any coupons cut or pages missing in the scanned interiors, and the book appears complete, but I have not counted every page, so please rely on the photos and judge for yourself. No noticeable top-edge color spray remains; edges show normal age toning and a few small nicks. This is a solid lower-grade reader copy of a desirable early Avengers issue, priced to move for someone who wants an authentic 12¢ Black Widow / Scarlet Witch / Quicksilver Avengers book without paying higher VF prices.
