In my research I found a patient from

R. E. Hoyt for these round Spring design dsted 1887

These measure right about 2 3/4 inches long by 1/2 inches wide.  The round spring is about  1 1/2 inches diameter.

I have a total of 10 of these clothes pins at the time of this listing creation.
