Description
[Model Overview]
The Martin D-28 is synonymous with acoustic guitars. This is a 2005 model.
With Grover tuning machines, a 42.9mm nut width, and a black pickguard, it retains a classic look while exuding the elegance of 20 years of experience.
The top is crafted from beautifully aged Sitka spruce, while the back and sides feature intricately grained East Indian rosewood.
The top has patinated beautifully, developing a lustrous amber color,
evident in the depth of sound that only time can bring.
While the current D-28 features forward-shifted scalloped bracing and aims for a more powerful, modern sound,
the D-28 from the early 2000s boasts a tighter low end, solid overtones, and a distinctive, refined tone.
It produces a powerful sound when strummed and a deep, rich sound when played with fingers, truly embodying the essence of a Martin.
This instrument is already 20 years old, and the wood has been thoroughly dried,
providing outstanding harmonic cohesion and excellent response.
It has a mature resonance and lustrous tone that sets it apart from current models.
This is a classic instrument that will make you nod in agreement with every play.
[Product Condition]
The top shows signs of general fading and minor scratches from playing, but neither of these affect performance; rather, it adds a touch of refinement to the instrument's 20-year history.
The wood grain on the sides and back is exceptionally beautiful and dense,
exuding a beauty that is difficult to achieve with modern woods.
The saddle and nut have been replaced with bone, improving tone clarity and harmonic extension.
The neck is slightly bowed forward, but the current string height is set low at approximately 2.0mm on the 6th string and 1.8mm on the 1st string, providing excellent playability.
Approximately 60-70% of the frets remain, so there is no need to file them down and the guitar is ready to play right away.
There is very little saddle height left, but the current setup provides ample playability and the truss rod is working properly.
Overall, the guitar is in excellent condition.
Please consider purchasing the D-28 you've always wanted.
