Up for auction is a very gently-used, HO, Athearn 40-foot, Wood-Sided, Refrigerator car. painted and lettered for Fruit Growers Express/FGEX, #57621.

This cars was carefully put together from one of Athearn's famous Blue Box kits. From what I can see all the parts are present and attached where they are supposed to be.

This colorful Fruit Growers Express refrigerator car has Deep Yellow sides with Oxide Red ends and roof. All the lettering is done in black and is crisply done. Th car has been weathered to look like it has been on the road for several years: not too heavy and not too light!

The car rides on Athearn's smooth-rolling, plastic Bettendorf trucks with plastic wheels on steel pin-point axles. The car has ben equipped with genuine metal Kadee sprung, knuckle couplers.

I do not have the original Athearn box for this FGEZ reefer but will promptly ship it within 3 business days of your payment clearing Ebay. The Athearn box in the photo is not the original and was included for display and information purposes only.
