This TEAC 1230 unit is in very clean cosmetic condition and powers on properly. All major functions engage — reels turn, buttons respond, meters light up, and audio sections work — except for one mechanism:

👉 The pinch roller arm (shown where my finger is pointing in the photos) does NOT lift up automatically when PLAY is pressed. The motor that raises it doesn’t engage. Because of this, the tape will not pull through unless the arm is manually lifted.

Everything else on the machine appears to function as intended.
