The Cootie II is an updated version of the Cootie Paddle Key.
It includes a Manual/Automatic Mode switch so you can easily use it as an Automatic Paddle key without needing to rewire it.
* In Cootie Mode (M), the key is a Paddle key where the contacts are in parallel and is considered a manual key like a straight key.
* In Automatic Mode (A), the key becomes a Paddle key were the Dit and Dah contacts are separated so it can be used with a Keyer or Automatic Key input on your radio.
The Cootie II Paddle Key was designed as a low cost, low maintenance key, ideal for QRP, Learning Key (your first Cootie?), or even your normal operating key. You can use the key without a base ** or mount it one using the preformed #6 mounting holes (1-1/2" spacing).
The key uses repelling magnets instead of springs to center the paddle.
Each contact is adjustable separately.
Contacts are SS Screws.
All screws are stainless steel, and all inserts are brass.
Plastic parts are PLA Plastic.
