The mid-level door impact molding, as used on the E46 Sedan or Touring, is attached to the metal of the door using multiple white plastic clamps. For us, it is difficult to remove the molding from the door without breaking one, some or all these white plastic clamps.
We see little point in selling you broken white plastic clamps, so we remove the broken ones. This means we will typically offer for sale a molding with no white plastic clamps, or with some of them intact, or with all of them intact. The price reflects this but please look at the listing carefully to make sure youre aware of what you are buying.
We recommend you make a point of buying and installing any missing white plastic clamps, before installing the molding. Used good ones are rare, but various vendors still offer new ones. We recommend that you buy new ones. As far as we can tell, these white plastic clamps are available under two different BMW parts numbers: 51138231130 or 51138231179.
