Celadon vase Goryeo style with flying Cranes and Clouds on it. This style is very rare because of the way it was built. The sides are unique and the top is very beautifully done and also very rare to see on this style of celadon vas. Color is green luster reminiscent of jade with super smooth glaze. This style remains one of the most prised collectors items in the world. Celadon was first made in Korea during the Goryeo Dynasty (918- 1392), but originally produced in China, and very quickly gained popularity in Korea during 9th century  in increased contact with Song Dynasty. Name celadon is a17th century CE French word of Greek origin. The design of Cranes as you can see presented on this beautiful example, appeared very early in history. With their long necks, and legs, graceful pasture, and pure white feathers, Cranes are a popular auspicious symbol in many parts of Asia. They also symbolize long life as one of the" Ten Longevity Symbols ". Dimensions of this vase are 6.5" inches in height and just shy of 4" inches in width.
