The Pt 2/3 class was a striking appearance among the light tank locomotives for passenger transport. Their slim boiler, the large distance between the running axle and the coupling wheels (4,000 mm!) and the relatively large driver's cab are their typical features. There was also a door built into the back of the locomotive through which the stoker could enter the train to take over the conductor's duties.
The Bavarian State Railway put the first locomotives into service in 1909 and the last in 1916. Krauss delivered all machines (model 1 B h2, top speed 65 km/h) in Munich.
