Description
Through this system a central control operator directs progress of trains (shown in lights at top of board), throws switches, and sends train operators color-light signals in his control territory. Purpose of C. T. C. is to use tracks to greatest capacity. Board shown above is on Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railroad Company's Golden State route at Bureau, Illinois.
