This is for an original game used and signed personal model bat of famed
Baltimore Oriole and New York Met Davey Johnson. Just a part of Davey’s resume
is filled with stats such as being a four time All Star, 3 time World Champion,
2 time Manager of the Year, led four different clubs to first place finishes,
held the season home run record for second baseman with 43 until he was passed
by Marcus Semien in 2021. That’s not even including the great trivia answers
that end with Davey Johnson. Davey Johnson, Henry Aaron and Darrell Evans of
the 1973 Braves are the only 3 teammates to hit 40 homers in a single season.
Ever. Who had the last hit against Sandy Koufax in the major leagues? That
would be Davey Johnson in the sixth inning of the 1966 World Series during game
2. Who made the final out in the 1969 Miracle Mets game 5 victory which
everyone knows ended with Cleon Jones slowly taking a knee with the ball in his
glove? That would have been hit by Orioles second baseman Davey Johnson. Davey
would also be the first pinch hitter with 2 grand slams in a season (a stat
matched by four others since) during his stint with the Phillies, the very same
era this bat is from. Davey is in both the Baltimore Orioles and New York Mets
Hall of Fames. Davey also was the first to bring sabermetrics to the game of
baseball during his stint with the Mets. This uncracked beauty comes from the
1977-1979 labeling period and with Davey’s number 15 written on the knob, that
would refer to his two year stint with the Phillies during 1977 and 1978. As

JSA sticker on the end of the bat for the signature, so you have one of the
most ironclad Davey Johnson gamers out there. This very bat could have been the
bat that Davey used to hit one or both of his pinch hit grand slams for the Phils in 1978. A
beautiful bat from an important player/manager in baseball history.
