Much like Image Comics was once founded by some of the industry's best talent -- Todd McFarlane, Jim Lee and crew -- as they departed Marvel to form their own brand, GHOST MACHINE, a new imprint under Image Comics, is the new creator-owned media company formed in collaboration by some of DC Comics' very best. Just check out the talent:
GHOST MACHINE - Artists
- Jason (Jay) Fabok
- Gary Frank
- Bryan Hitch
- Francis Manapul
- Ivan Reis
- Peter Snejbjerg
GHOST MACHINE - Writers
- Geoff Johns
- Peter J. Tomasi
Johns, of course, has already dove into the creator-owned pool that is Image Comics with his popular indie book, Geiger and its spin-off, Junkyard Joe. Both series now fall under the Ghost Machine imprint, and Ghost Machine #1 is the group's collective introduction to everything they've got coming our way.
This over-sized 64-page one-shot dropped over a year back, so most - but not all - of their initial line has been coming to your LCS -- or to your favorite eBay sellers -- on a weekly basis. Ghost Machine #1 is a great place to familiarize yourself with the handful of series Johns and Tomasi are currently doing, but here's the kicker: if you come to Ghost Machine for the writers, what's going to make you stay is the art. Seriously. From Gary Frank to Jason Fabok to Ivan Reis and more, these guys are truly some of the industry's best.
Everybody here at Sasquatch Comics is a Ghost Machine fan. My personal favorite: Rook. In the one-shot preview, Johns and Fabok offer a 6-page tease of the all-new series which is more of an epic sci-fi tale with outstanding world-building and the truly novel concept that is the series' Wardens, of which Rook is one. [To be honest, the teaser story doesn't do the main book justice. Rook may be the best series -- or at least a Top 5 contender - for anything published in 2024].
Ghost Machine's "Family Odysseys" branch is Peter Tomasi's realm where he offers up more family-oriented (Rocketfellers) and younger reader (Hornsby and Halo) fare. With our GHOST MACHINE SET OF (2) IMAGE COMICS, you'll get this outstanding preview one-shot and Hornsby & Halo #1, all for one fantastic price.
You may not know that the books Johns, Reis, Tomasi, Fabok and the rest are the comics that your collection deserves ... but trust us, they're what your collections deserves.
Give 'em a try - today!
