This DVD contains the performance from Michael Jackson's "The HIStory World Tour" held in Manila, Philippines on December 10, 1996. During this time, Michael was facing a lot of criticism and backlash for his child sexual abuse scandal. In 1995, "HIStory: Past, Present and Future, Book I," a coupling of a new album and a best-of album, was released and became a huge hit all over the world. The singles released from this album also became hits across the board. The tour that started with this album included 82 performances in 35 countries, which ended up being his last tour. The tour began with a performance in Prague, Czech Republic on September 7, 1996, and traveled from Eastern Europe to Asia and Oceania, finishing the first leg in the Philippines, Japan and Hawaii. After a 5-month interval, the tour continued to Europe and ended with a performance in Durban, South Africa on October 15, 1997. Michael's live shows tend to emphasize a sense of teamwork, and the female guitarist Jennifer Button, who is also the main star of Michael's stage, and seven other members are the same members as in the previous [Dangeroud Tour]. Among them, David Williams is a long-time friend of Michael's, and was the original guitarist for [Thriller] and [Billie Jean]. New members are Jonathan Moffett (ds), a tour member from his time with the Jacksons, and famous session man Freddie Washington (b). The absence of Greg Phillinganes and Saida Garrett suggests a departure from the Quincy Jones system. The set list is made up of singles from the new album and past hits, and is enjoyable for everyone. It's a concert that shows the true colors of a superstar.
