This is a high-quality LA-body acoustic guitar featuring a solid spruce top, solid palisander (rosewood) sides and back, a mahogany neck, and an ebony fingerboard and bridge. The nut width measures approximately 43.8mm, and the scale is 651mm. This model was highly regarded in its time, positioned just below the top-tier LA-57 Custom in Yamaha’s 1991 lineup. It features a slightly slimmer and shallower body than a standard dreadnought, giving it a distinctive shape and feel.

Overall, the guitar is in very good cosmetic condition with relatively few scratches. However, there are two noticeable scrapes on the top near the bass side of the soundhole, likely caused by contact with a hard object. Additionally, while not immediately obvious, careful inspection under light reveals signs of a bridge re-glue; some repair marks are visible around the bridge area. Light weather checking can be seen on the top, and there are minor scratches and dings on the back, but nothing that significantly detracts from the overall appearance. Considering its age, this guitar can be classified as being in above-average condition.

The neck is straight and in excellent condition, with a comfortable setup: the string height is about 2.5mm on the 6th string and 1.7mm on the 1st string at the 12th fret, making it very easy to play. The saddle still has room for further adjustment if needed. The frets show only minor wear, mostly on the lower frets, and even in the most worn areas, about 80% of the original fret height remains.
