You are buying an early intermediate shaft cover - early cast iron thrust plate version - for a 1964 - early 1968 Porsche 911 with a sandcast engine case. The early sandcast engines ran the intermediate shaft right in the case without a bearing, and more importantly without a thrust bearing. So, these early heavy duty steel covers are shimmed with gaskets to serve as a thrust plate for the intermediate shaft - the factory manual outlines the procedure for the early cars. This will fit any Porsche 901 / 911 from 1964-1967 - some very early 68s as well, basically all early 911s that had the IMS shaft run inside the case without intermediate shaft bearings.
