1963 - 64 Vintage Barbie Outdoor Art Show #993 Complete Repackaged Outfit.

Years ago, I was fortunate enough to be able acquire a lot of complete and mint vintage Barbie outfits from the original and only owner of them. There are only two issues to note. The original owner had removed all of the outfits from the original packaging and rewrapped in tissue to store away so she wouldn't need as much space to store them. At the time she wasn't aware of how important that packaging would be in the future but lucky for we current collectors, there were people that would realize it later so created repro packaging just for that reason. The second is I couldn't find the original necklace so the clasps on the one I included have tarnished but I'm on the hunt for the perfect one that came with the outfit and if I locate it before the outfit sells, I'll change it out and update the photos. As is, you can decide how you want to deal with it if you want to make an offer rather than buying at full price. 

This is the complete and mint Vintage Barbie Outfit Sophisticated Lady #993 Complete Outfit. It was made in 1963 and 64 and the pieces are in near mint/mint condition, they are crisp and unplayed with. I always assess as near mint to mint as some things can come slightly flawed straight from the factory, however I can attest that this outfit has never been on a doll or displayed in any other manner. I have now repackaged it in a replacement display box made especially for vintage outfits for storage and display. Since most hardcore collectors like me don't like changing out clothing much, most outfits end up stored in a closet where they can't be enjoyed. This is the perfect way to keep them protected and out on display for all to see. Repackaging also makes a beautiful gift and when packaging I use the exact placement for the pieces that Mattel did.

Included is the beautiful pink trimmed in silver gown, the darker pink velvet overcoat, long white tricot gloves, pink Japan open toe heels, her silver sparkly crown, the gorgeous pink and shiny graduated bead necklace, original issue booklet and the replacement outfit package. The original label is also near mint, and the paper inspection tags are still intact on both clothing pieces. Photo 12 shows the perfect paper label in the velvet overcoat and the paper label in the gown shows clearly in photo 14. As you can see both are in perfect condition and are clean and bright with no tears. There are no stains, rips or tears and the original silver bead buttons are intact and secure. Repackaged Outfits and my experience. Prior to 2012 I carried a full stock to choose from (40 - 50), but then I ran into medical issues that made it impossible for me to continue at the pace I was once able to. Although I'll never be able to offer as many as I once did, I still try to offer as many as possible for Christmas and other special holiday/birthday celebrations. REQUIREMENTS FOR MY REPACAGING OF VINTAGE OUTFITS
All of my repackaged outfits must and do meet these requirements
 
1) All outfits are complete with only original vintage pieces.
 
2) All pieces are normally in near mint/mint condition. I don't like describing anything as mint as they can be flawed straight out of manufacturing so most buyers tell me that items are usually better than my description. I'd rather send my buyers a happy surprise rather than any type of disappointment. Occasionally a VHTF accessory might be excellent but if that's the case, it will be correctly described in the listing.
 
3) Nothing is ever touched without hands being washed thoroughly prior to touching to keep finger oils off of everything. I also use surgical gloves when necessary. This is actually a requirement for all of my items whether repackaged or not.
 
4) The placement of pieces are exactly as Mattel manufacturing originally issued them for their customers.
 
5) I include detailed photos of the items before packaging. When I carried a full stock I requested input from my buyer's as to how they were used. The majority of buyers informed me that they never removed them so I began including these detailed photos of all pieces taken prior to final packaging. This allows the buyer to see every piece in full detail so you know exactly what you're getting. 
 
PRACTICAL USES

1) These make beautiful gifts for your special collector. Most people don't want to hand their special person a pile of unorganized pieces. I've even given some to my hubby to give to me for Christmas. Although they belong to my store already, I run it like any other business so don't just grab what I want. I know that's silly but that's what happens when raised by a bunch of business owner's. LOL!! 

2) Outfits stay protected if displaying without removing the outfit. Previous buyers have loved this option. You no longer have to store them away in closets to keep them safe so you can actually enjoy them year round.

3) I include instructions so they can be used again if you choose to swap out another outfit.

4) I have some buyers that love these as they can hang them on the wall if they desire to do so. They've been purchased from members of Barbie Clubs for decoration and comparisons for new collectors to examine and seasoned members to enjoy while keeping everything fully and properly protected.
