Intricate, rare Gould Hand Colored FOLIO Birds Of Australia Print from 1835. Measures 14”x11.5”. This unframed print allows you to display it in the frame of your choice.
John Gould (1804-1881) is known as the most accurate ornithology artist of the Victorian era. He was renowned for producing works filled with natural detail and beauty without sacrificing the much-needed accuracy in form and color.
A self-taught naturalist, Gould created and published almost 3,000 exceptional lithographs during his career. This lithograph is from one of his most famous collections, The Birds of Australia, published in the 1840s in 7 volumes.
This lithograph is one of my favorites because of its gentle blue, yellow, and green hues. It is neutral enough to be displayed anywhere, yet colorful enough to add a touch of vibrance and character to the room. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
Will be shipped carefully and properly, ensuring no damage is done in transport.
