Overview

This is the original tactical sword belt concept, first developed in Japan in 2009 before any similar or cosplay-related versions existed. It allows you to wear a Japanese sword without an obi, with a focus on usability, portability, and safety.

Every part of the system is fully adjustable and can be used without any modification to your existing koshirae. As an enhanced safety feature, the koiguchi (scabbard opening) can be secured and released easily, allowing both safe carry and fast drawing.

Film Appearance

In the web series Mortal Kombat: Legacy II, the character Kenshi uses this Tactical Sword Belt as a prop to wear his legendary sword “Sento”. This design was purchased directly by the film’s costume designer and used on screen.

Key Features

• Obi-free equipping system
  After hundreds of years of relying on the obi, you now have another option. The belt allows you to wear whatever clothing you feel comfortable in while carrying your katana. The height and angle of the sword can be adjusted inch by inch, even for longer blades that were difficult to handle with the traditional method.
• Instant detaching feature
  With the obi method, your draw can be restricted by opponents or by tight spaces, because the sword cannot be detached backwards and must always move forward to separate from the belt. This tactical system allows your katana to be detached quickly in any direction with a single click.
• Quick-release sageo
  The quick-release sageo can be applied to almost any koshirae without modification. It helps secure a loose koiguchi, so the sword can be handled and carried more safely.
• Two-point suspension along the body
  The sword is held at two points so it stays close to your body, minimizing swing. Positioning the blade slightly to the side allows you to walk more freely without distraction.
• Back-mounted carry option
  The belt also supports carrying your katana on your back, keeping the center of gravity lower for better balance.
