• Raymond Waites designed a series of pie / dessert plates in 2002 using African and Asian wildlife
• Plates were made by Certified International
• Pattern was named Empire and featured various animal motifs as a central image surrounded by a woven bamboo / rattan rim and accents
• These plates have become very collectible over the years
• This is the ELEPHANT plate with the scientific name "Elephantus Indicus" inscribed below the image
• The design evokes a safari or exotic theme, which is commonly used by Raymond Waites in his designs
• Never used, except for display
• Very good condition
• Not in original box
• Still has the original paper label on the back
• Octagonal shape
• Measures 9½ inches at its widest point
