The model is a symbol of the idea of ​​revival and the willingness to experiment of the then NOCH young Federal Railway. Theoretically well thought out but practically impossible to implement, the two test locomotives of the 78.10 series remained the only ones of their kind.

Prototype: German Federal Railroad (DB) steam locomotive type 78 1002, type 2'C2'h2 with two-axle short tender 2T17. Version with triple headlights as it was around 1958.
