(DENTED!!!) Contax 77/86 Camera Lens Adapter Step Up Ring For 55mm & 85mm f/1.2

This ring in BGN condition with heavy signs of cosmetic wear. It is hard to tell exactly where but this adapter appears to have been dented on the top and bottom rim. Looking at it closely it doesn't appear to be a perfect circle at the top or bottom. There are also a few scrapes in the mounting threads on the top side of the adapter. Because of the dents / scrapes this adapter does not mount easily. I was able to get it mounted to a Contax 86mm Metal Hood but I had to line the threads up perfectly with the hood and when attaching it there was definitely scraping and resistance. I was also able to attach the mounting side to a 77mm filter but I also had to line it up perfectly and had to force it a bit to get it started. Once it started threading I was able to get it mounted. I would suggest carefully mounting this adapter to a lens and hood and then keeping them attached. I wouldn't keep removing the adapter from a lens or the hood from an adapter.

There are additional scuffs and scrapes in the metal.

From what I can find this adapter is for the Contax Carl Zeiss Planar 85mm f/1.2 T* and Contax Carl Zeiss Planar 55mm f/1.2 T*. This adapter would allow one of the Contax 86mm Metal Hoods to be used with these lenses.
