What is the function of Knife Sharpening Leather Strop?
Generally, a leather strop knife sharpener is usually used to remove the “burr” from the cutting edge of a freshly sharpened blade. Stropping is the final step in honing a blade’s edge down to a microscopic level.
How do you use this knife stropping kit?
Step 1: AT First you should apply the buffing compound on the leather knife sharpener like coloring with a crayon, back and forth with light pressure.
Step 2: Cover the entire leather surface with the sharpening compound, Condition the leather with a few drops of oil.
Step 3: Place the blade on the leather stropping block towards the handle, You can set the angle around 15-30 degrees of the blade raising the spine.
Step 4: Then continuing pushing the blade up towards the top of the leather knife sharpener. When you reach the top, just flip the blade over so cutting edge is pointed towards the top of the straight razor strop, After adjusting it pull towards the handle of the leather strop block.
Should I clean the knife sharpening strop?
You can remove the stropping paste, you also can leave them alone，If the leather isn't taking the compound you can sand it down using sand paper.
